This site collects almost nothing.

There is no form on this website, no newsletter, no account and no shopping basket. The only way to reach the studio is an email link that opens your own mail app, which means the first time any of your details reach me is when you decide to press send.

01

What the site itself stores

Nothing. No cookies are set by this site for advertising, personalisation or tracking, and there is no login, so there is nothing to keep you signed in to.

If your browser tells you a cookie exists, it will be one set by the hosting platform for basic operation, not one placed here to follow you.

02

What the host can see

This site is published on Framer, and like any web host it records the ordinary things a server records when a page is requested: the page, the approximate region, the browser, and the time.

That data is aggregated, is not linked to a name, and is not used to build a profile of you. If you want it removed or want to know exactly what is held, write and I will ask the host on your behalf.

03

Email you send me

If you email the studio, I keep the message for as long as the conversation is useful and, if it becomes a commission, for as long as I hold the negatives — because the correspondence is part of the record of the work.

I do not add you to a list. I do not sell, rent or share the address. Ask me to delete the thread and I will delete it.

04

Photographs of people

If you appear in a photograph made on commission, you can ask what frames exist of you, ask to see them, and ask that they are never shown. That request is honoured permanently and noted on the sheet so a future editor cannot undo it.

Negatives are not deleted, because destroying a negative destroys the rest of the frames on the strip. They are marked closed and stay closed.

05

Who else is involved

Email is handled by a standard mail provider. Hosting is Framer. Photographs on this site are placeholders from Unsplash and carry their own licence.

No analytics tag, advertising pixel, chat widget or session recorder has been added to these pages.

06

Your rights

You can ask what is held, ask for a copy, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion. Write to the address below and say which of those you want. There is no form to fill in and no reference number to quote.

If you are not satisfied with the answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK.

Answered by a person

If any of that is unclear, ask.

Ask about any of it

Write and say which part you mean. I would rather rewrite a paragraph than have you take a guess at what happens to your details.
