Anvil Press
A book about long-distance haulage, and a driver who did not move for the whole roll. The commission was for twelve portraits across four depots; this is the first one and it set the terms for the rest.

The approach — 004
How it was made
Depot light, which is sodium and fluorescent fighting each other, and a subject on a forty-minute break who had no interest in giving up any of it. So the camera went where he already was and stayed there.
Thirty-six frames, one position, one conversation. He talked for the whole roll and looked at the lens twice.
The outcome — 005
2025
Frame nineteen ran as the book's frontispiece. The other eleven drivers were photographed the same way and the book holds together because of it.
One method, applied twelve times, is a body of work. Twelve methods is a folder.
